Lifting restrictions regarding the recent pandemic do not mean the risks have disappeared. But when the Government issued new guidance regarding the recent pandemic our local government marketing skills were called in to help explain the public roadmap for COVID-19.

Cheshire East Council had clear advice in respect of the outbreak and their specific region. This included urging those living and working in Cheshire East to get fully vaccinated and follow advice. To help with this challenge the Council approached GWCM due to our digital experience within Government offices. We are also a Crown Commercial, Digital Outcomes, and Specialists 6 Framework supplier with vast local council marketing experience, and the value we offer.

We developed campaign materials consisting of leaflets, a video animation, and social media graphics, outlining advisory guidance on how people could manage the risks for Cheshire East residents and the simple actions we could all take to help lower the risk of infection.

Our Covid-19 marketing was based upon our successful campaign graphics for Northamptonshire Councils and uses a simple, illustrative style that informs and makes it easy to comprehend, even if English is not the first language of the reader. Our work has supported the UK Government's advice throughout all phases, and more recently built on updated Step 4 guidance as the country learns to live with the virus.
